1. Overview of Rundown

Rundown is a mobile application that provides runners with insights, summaries, and performance analysis based on running activity data. The app connects to Strava for authentication and imports your running data to generate AI-powered insights — all processed locally on your device.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use Rundown. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement and have the authority to agree to these Terms.

3. Account Access via Strava

Rundown uses Strava authentication to identify you and access your running activity data.

  • You consent to Rundown accessing your Strava running activity data via Strava’s API.
  • You acknowledge that Rundown is not affiliated with, endorsed, or sponsored by Strava.
  • You may disconnect Rundown from your Strava account at any time via your Strava settings.

4. Data Storage and Processing

Rundown is designed with local-first data privacy in mind.

  • Your activity data from Strava is cached and processed locally on your device only.
  • Rundown does not store or upload your running data to any remote server or database.
  • The app may send a summarized version of your locally stored run data (such as distances, pace, and trends) to an AI service provider (like OpenAI) solely for the purpose of generating insights and summaries.
  • This transfer happens only when you explicitly authenticate with Strava and use Rundown’s insight features, and you consent to this by continuing to use the app.

Rundown does not sell, share, or permanently store your activity data.

5. AI-Generated Insights

Rundown uses artificial intelligence (“AI”) to help analyze your running patterns and provide insights such as summaries, progress indicators, or recommendations.

  • AI-generated content is for informational and motivational purposes only.
  • It does not constitute medical, health, or coaching advice.
  • You should always consult a qualified health or fitness professional before making significant training or lifestyle decisions.

6. Data Control and Consent

You maintain full control over your data:

  • You can disconnect your Strava account at any time, which will stop all future data imports.
  • You may delete all cached data on your device by uninstalling the app.
  • No identifiable personal or activity data is stored in the cloud or on third-party servers beyond temporary AI processing as described above.

By authenticating through Strava, you consent to: (1) Local caching of your Strava running data on your device, and (2) The use of that data for AI-powered analysis and insight generation.

7. Acceptable Use

  • Reverse-engineer or interfere with Rundown’s functionality.
  • Attempt to extract, resell, or share AI-generated insights outside your own use.
  • Misuse the Strava API connection or impersonate other users.

Violation of these Terms may result in suspension or loss of access to the app.

8. Intellectual Property

Rundown, including its logo, UI design, and analytical models, is the property of its creators. You are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.

9. Third-Party Services

Rundown connects with third-party services such as:

  • Strava for authentication and data access
  • AI providers (e.g., OpenAI) for generating insights

Use of these services is governed by their own respective terms and privacy policies. Rundown is not responsible for the actions or data handling practices of these providers.

10. Disclaimers

Rundown is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no representations or warranties about:

  • The accuracy or reliability of AI-generated insights,
  • The availability or compatibility of the app, or
  • The performance of Strava’s API or other third-party integrations.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rundown and its affiliates shall not be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages,
  • Any health or performance outcomes resulting from reliance on insights, or
  • Any data loss related to device storage, Strava API changes, or connectivity issues.

12. Termination

You may stop using Rundown or delete the app at any time. We may suspend or discontinue the Service if required by law or in response to misuse.

13. Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Updates will be reflected in the app or on our website. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of laws. If you reside outside the United States, your local consumer protection laws may also apply.

Strava Integration

Rundown connects to Strava using OAuth 2.0 authentication. By connecting your Strava account, you grant Rundown permission to access your running activities.
